Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 20, 2026
Last updated: April 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Avego (“Avego”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, shares, stores, retains, and protects personal information when you use avego.io, our mobile application, and any related services, content, events, community spaces, chat features, support channels, or other features we operate (together, the “Service”).
Avego is an India-based social event platform. Its purpose is to help people create and join events, discover others with shared interests, and build real-world social connections. This policy is written for the present feature set of Avego and is intended to align with applicable Indian privacy, data protection, consumer, and intermediary obligations as they apply from time to time.
Important product note: Avego uses trust and safety features such as face verification and a linked social profile check, where needed, to reduce fake accounts and improve authenticity. Event chats, RSVP tools, and host moderation tools are part of the Service. Information shared inside those event spaces may be visible to the relevant host and participants.
Key privacy and product positions

| In-person events | Avego facilitates connections only and does not supervise every offline meeting or event. |
Who we are and what this document covers
For the purposes of Indian law, Avego acts as a data fiduciary for the personal data we determine the purpose and means of processing for. When we engage vendors to process data on our behalf, they act as our data processors or equivalent service providers under contract.
This policy covers personal data collected through the website, mobile applications, email, support channels, event pages, event chat spaces, in-app messages, surveys, advertisements, cookies, SDKs, analytics tools, verification flows, and any other channel operated by or on behalf of Avego.

- Any content you post, upload, send, or share through the Service, including text, photographs, comments, reviews, ratings, event updates, and direct messages.
- Group chat messages, event comments, RSVP activity, and moderation history that arise from your participation in an event or event chat.

C. Information from other sources

- Information from public sources where relevant and lawful, such as publicly available social media profiles, to prevent fraud or maintain trust and safety.
Why we collect and use information
We use personal data only for clear and legitimate purposes connected with the Service, including:
- Creating and managing accounts, profiles, login sessions, and verification states.
- Letting users create, publish, discover, join, and attend events.
- Matching people to events based on interests, location, language, and similar preferences.
- Sending notifications, reminders, confirmations, moderation messages, support messages, and service notices.
- Moderating content, preventing spam, fraud, abuse, impersonation, harassment, unsafe behaviour, and misuse of event spaces.
- Verifying users through face verification and social profile checks where needed to reduce fake accounts, improve trust, and decide access to certain features.
- Handling payments, refunds, disputes, chargebacks, and records, if those features are enabled.
- Improving product quality, testing new features, analysing usage, and fixing errors.
- Complying with law, lawful requests, court orders, taxation, accounting, and record-keeping obligations.
- Marketing Avego, including through permitted email, in-app, or push notifications, where permitted by law and your settings.
- Protecting the rights, safety, property, and legitimate interests of Avego, our users, event hosts, and the public.
Where consent is required, we will seek it in clear language and only use the data for the purpose explained in the notice. Where the law permits processing without separate consent, we will limit the processing to what is necessary for that lawful purpose.
We do not use your personal data in a way that is incompatible with the purpose for which it was collected, unless the law allows or requires otherwise.
How and when we share information
We do not sell or rent personal data. We share personal data only to operate the Service, to support event participation, to enforce our rules, to protect users, or to comply with law.
- With other users: event hosts and participants can see information that is reasonably needed for the event experience, such as your display name, profile photo, RSVP status, event comments, and any content you choose to make public.
- In event chats and group spaces: messages, reactions, and profile details tied to the chat may be visible to the host and to other participants in that specific event space.
- With service providers: cloud hosting, analytics, messaging, customer support, fraud detection, identity verification, content moderation, and payment partners may process data on our instructions.
- With event hosts: when you join or request to join an event, the host may receive the details needed to manage attendance, communicate about the event, and moderate the event space.
- Verification information is not shown to other users unless we display a limited verification status or badge. We do not publicly post your face-verification data or linked social account details unless you choose to make them public.
Face verification and social profile checks are trust and safety tools only. They reduce fake accounts and help us manage risk, but they do not guarantee that every user is truthful, safe, or suitable for every event.
- With authorities or other third parties: we may disclose information if we believe it is necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud or abuse, or respond to lawful requests.
- In a business transaction: if Avego is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale of assets, data may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to applicable law and safeguards.
If you post content publicly on Avego, that content may be visible to others who access the relevant page or feature, and may be copied, saved, shared, or reported by them within or outside the Service in ways we cannot control.
Cross-border transfers
Your data may be stored or processed in India and in other countries where our service providers or infrastructure are located. Where the law restricts transfer to a country or territory, we will follow the applicable restriction and only transfer data in a lawful manner.
We use contractual, technical, and organisational safeguards with vendors and partners that handle personal data for us.
Retention and deletion
We keep personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy, to operate the Service, to resolve disputes, to enforce agreements, and to meet legal, tax, accounting, safety, or security obligations.
- Account data is generally kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period after closure.
- Event records, moderation records, and support records may be retained for longer where needed for safety, dispute handling, legal compliance, fraud prevention, or evidence.
- Verification records, including face-verification outputs or related trust signals, are kept only for as long as needed for verification, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.
- If you delete content or close your account, some information may remain in backups, logs, caches, or archives for a limited period before permanent deletion or anonymisation.
- Where a law requires a minimum retention period, we will keep the relevant records for at least that period.
When retention is no longer needed, we will delete, anonymise, or securely archive the information, as appropriate.
Security measures
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect personal data against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, alteration, and disclosure. These safeguards may include access controls, encryption, hashing, logging, monitoring, staff training, vendor diligence, and secure development practices.
Children and age restrictions
Avego is intended only for adults aged 18 years and above. We do not knowingly allow children or other users under 18 to create accounts or use the Service.
If a user misrepresents their age or identity, Avego may suspend, restrict, or delete the account and related data, subject to applicable law and safety needs.
If we learn that a user is under 18, we may suspend or delete the account and related data, subject to legal requirements and safety needs. We also do not knowingly use child data for tracking, behavioural monitoring, or targeted advertising.
If any part of the Service is ever offered to younger users or with family features, this policy will be updated first and any additional legal safeguards will be applied before that change goes live.
Cookies, analytics, and device permissions
We use cookies, local storage, SDKs, pixels, and similar tools to keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure performance, understand how the Service is used, and improve user experience.
- Essential cookies or similar technologies help the Service function properly.
- Analytics tools help us understand which pages, events, and features are most useful.
- Notification and device permissions may be requested for camera, photo library, microphone, push notifications, or location, depending on the feature you use.
You can usually control cookies and permissions through your browser or device settings, but some features may not work properly if you disable them.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the applicable law and the features we offer, you may be able to:
- Access a copy of your personal data or ask whether we hold it.
- Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Request deletion of personal data that we are not required to keep.
- Withdraw consent for optional processing, where consent is the legal basis.
- Object to or limit certain communications, such as marketing messages.
- Lodge a complaint through our grievance process or with the relevant authority, where applicable.
- Nominate another person to act for you in relation to your data, where the law and our system allow it.
We may ask for reasonable verification before acting on a request. Some requests may be declined or limited where the law requires us to keep the data, where deletion would affect legal obligations, or where the request cannot be verified.
Grievance redressal and contact information
For privacy questions, complaints, or requests, contact us at:
Please include enough detail for us to understand and verify your request. We will try to respond within a reasonable period, and where a shorter legal period applies, we will follow that period.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in the law, our features, our service providers, or our business practices. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where required, provide additional notice.
Your continued use of Avego after the updated policy becomes effective means you have read the new version.
