Account Deletion

How to request deletion
Please follow these steps:
- Send an email from the same email address that is registered on the Avego account.
- Include your full name and your Avego username in the email.
- Use the subject line: Delete My Avego Account.
- Send the request to: hi@avego.io.

What happens after you send the request
- We will verify that the request comes from the registered email address and that the account details match our records.
- If extra verification is needed, we may ask for limited additional information to confirm identity and prevent unauthorised deletion requests.
- Once the request is verified, the account will be scheduled for deletion and access may be disabled during the deletion process.
- Associated account data will be permanently deleted or anonymised within 30 days, unless we are required or permitted to retain specific records for legal, security, fraud-prevention, tax, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes.

What is deleted
- Profile data, account settings, and login credentials linked to the account.
- Content the user created or uploaded, to the extent it is stored in our systems and not separately retained by law.
- Event history, chat data, and participation records associated with the account, subject to the retention exceptions below.
- Verification data used for account trust and safety, subject to legal retention needs and security logs that cannot be immediately removed from backups.

What may be retained
- Records needed for legal compliance, fraud prevention, abuse investigation, tax, accounting, and dispute handling.
- Transaction records, invoices, refunds, and chargeback records where payments were involved.
- Security logs, audit logs, and backup copies for a limited period until normal backup rotation removes them.
- Content or messages that were already shared with other users, reposted, copied, or stored outside Avego and are not fully under our control.

Important notes
- Deletion is permanent once completed. Deleted accounts cannot usually be restored.
- If the request is sent from an email address that is not registered on the account, we may not be able to process it until the requester is verified.
- If multiple accounts exist under the same email, the request should clearly state which username or account is to be deleted.
